Pretty much everyone can count to 21. However, this skill means nothing unless you know how much every card in the deck is worth in a Blackjack situation.

The Ace is a flexible card, which makes it so valuable. It can be worth either eleven points or one point, depending on what is more beneficial to a player's hand. A hand including an Ace is known as a soft hand for this reason. |

Face Cards (Jack, Queen and King) are all worth ten points. |
All Other Cards: |
All other cards in the deck are worth their numeric value in points (2-10). |
